The city spreads to the limit of the gulf baring its name, along the siculo-ionian coast in a very nice setting where the Etna (elevation: 3350m), always covered with the immaculate whiteness of the snow, makes a very contrasting background with the intense blue of the sky and the vivid colors of the citrus cultivations. It is the second biggest city in Sicily and the sixth biggest commercial city in all of Italy. Here again, splendid cathedrals, Roman theaters, churches, fountains, palaces, temples and castles are only a few of the things to see in this city.
